I really like your suggestion about having an LMS automatically send a meeting agenda to the learner&amp;#39;s manager - that didn&amp;#39;t cross my mind. The 3rd idea -- structured conversation between learner and manager -- can be supported by an LMS with notification abilities. A note to the manager when the learner enrolls in or launches the course becomes a &amp;quot;communication plan&amp;quot; to let him/her know the learning event is coming up and that the meeting is expected to follow. After course completion, the LMS can send a meeting reminder and even an agenda template with specific talking points and a place for the learner to communicate take-aways and post-training commitments to the manager.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is of course very low tech, but it is a critical touch point that keeps the manager involved in the learner&amp;#39;s activities and ensures that learning is an ongoing process instead of a one-time event.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/839979988539109204/8817224850343210007/comments/default/4601363255024318595'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/839979988539109204/8817224850343210007/comments/default/4601363255024318595'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://blog.integratedlearningservices.com/2009/12/low-tech-ways-to-add-social-and_09.html?showComment=1261495196580#c4601363255024318595' title=''/><author><name>Chris Rogers</name><uri>http://www.tinyurl.com/learningcommunity</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img1.blogblog.com/img/blank.gif'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://blog.integratedlearningservices.com/2009/12/low-tech-ways-to-add-social-and_09.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-839979988539109204.post-8817224850343210007' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/839979988539109204/posts/default/8817224850343210007' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-2009550689'/></entry></feed>
